Fix animal tab crash #21

Configures the project to build on OSX (conditionally check file paths, etc)
Add defensive handling for null AnimalLink references in AnimalManager

Fix #20

Feel free to cherry-pick just the fix if you don't want the project setup changes. I haven't done C# before so it's possible I don't have it set up quite right, but I was able to run the app and confirm the fix with these changes.
