Game crashing after a short time of playing on a Mac #1003

Describe the bug Game keeps crashing on Mac after a short time of playing. It's not one of the out of memory problems described in other issues, memory consumption remains below 4GB. Short video with memory consumption and crash: https://share.cleanshot.com/I5oW34

Steps to reproduce Only running the game on a Mac.

Build version 0.87.3.4

Platform macOS Ventura 13.0.1, Mac Studio Apple M1 Max, 64 GB RAM

Reproducibility every time, after some minutes.

Logs/saves Player.log

Can you share a list of mods you are playing with?

Also can you try to play with no mods enabled? (You can run the game with -safe argument to temporary disable all mods).

I have no mods installed. It's the first time I try to play it, but unfortunately not for long. Suggestion: put a list of loaded mods in the log file.

Sorry to hear that! Unfortunately, the logs do not indicate any problems preceding the crash.

Have you tried solutions described in the memory leak thread (https://github.com/voxeltycoon/issues/discussions/924)?

This happens to me as well. I am running in vanilla on Mac (Apple M2) with no mods.

Same thing happens to me. No memory leak, relatively low memory consumption. No mods, low graphics settings. The game will crash to desktop after 10-15 minutes of play. No mods.

I just got the game off Steam today. No mods just completed the tutorial, four crashes in a row after playing for maybe 10-15 minutes each time? I decreased the auto save time from 15 minutes to 10 minutes because I keep losing progress between crashes. Playing on iMac M1 8gb ram

Had the game for several years and loved it. Started playing today after many months away from playing and found it was quitting without warning. No mods running, MacBook Air 2017 13" OS 11.6 Big Sur, 8GB. I see there's a lower resolution to fix work around, but I was already playing at the lower resolution setting due to me running an older/slower/smaller system.

Same here. MacBook M1 Pro, 32GB, Ventura 13.1, no mods. External display 3840 x 2160, fullscreen.
