Minor thing: tip displayed for a fraction of a second only when loading game #1040

When I load the game, a screen displays 'Made with Unity' in very large letters. Then a tip is displayed in the lower half of the screen before the main menu appears. The problem is that the tip appears for a fraction of a second only. I absolutely can't read it. The tip should stay on the screen for a few more seconds on the main menu screen. These tips are essential: I don't know how else I would have discovered some user interface tricks...

When the main menu is loading, no tips are shown, only the "Loading…" message.

Tips are shown when you load a saved game or create a new one, so there're usually plenty of time to check some of them.

Also, we plan to introduce tips to the in-game help menu, so they can be read freely at any time, along with other tutorials.

Hey! Thanks for the reply! Here's a video I took using my phone. A tip does appear very shortly between the 'Made with Unity' splash screen and the menu being loaded. Not a big problem as I said, but a bit frustrating to be shown a tip for a fraction of a second... I cut the video short, just before the main menu appears.

Thanks for providing the video! My apologies, I misinterpreted the original issue.

I think we should remove tips from the main menu loading screen altogether to avoid confusion. These will still be available on the game creation/loading screen. Additionally, as I mentioned, we plan to introduce the ability to inspect all the tips in-game.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. BTW, I made another comment about the game regularly crashing. It started happening as my rail network became more and more complex and the number of vehicles increased beyond a certain point (apparently). Every now and then, the game would not only crash, but it took the whole computer down with it. The computer was suddenly powered down at random moments, for no apparent reason. That happened again and again, and only while playing Voxel Tycoon. That is the situation as I described it then, and my hypothesis was that the game was possibly too cpu intensive, leading to processor overheat. I have a Core i9, water cooled. Processor temperature stayed constantly at 100C or just slightly below. Even with the game paused.

Shortly after I complained about this, the situation worsened. I started having BSOD's. Once again, only playing Voxel Tycoon.

FYI, out of curiosity, I had undertaken the online Unity training program a few weeks earlier. As I progressed through the program, I noticed that their editor was regularly hanging.I had to open the task manager and stop the Unity process. Perhaps there's a problem with Unity??

I couldn't take the BSOD's anymore, so I gave up on Voxel Tycoon. I've been playing Captain of Industry since. Probably over 100 hours. Never had a crash. I notice now that the processor's temperature is the same as when I play Voxel Tycoon, so it's probably not the problem. I just loaded Voxel Tycoon as I was typing this email to quickly check the processor's load while playing. I noticed that a train couldn't find a route to its destination and I started troubleshooting this. BSOD again. The game is unfortunately unplayable.

Anyway, it was fun while it lasted. I thought you might like to know about this problem. Hopefully it will be fixed eventually.

Best regards

Michel
