Pull Request (PR) description

Provides support for RedHat family major version 8. Implements hieradata support to ease adoption of additional oses/families. Optimizes spec tests to accommodate additional oses/families. Adopts recommendations from previous two pull request attempts.

Thx. After #43 has been approved, this should be merged too. There are some minor changes, but I will take care of it later.
