Icarus errors on closing #568

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Delete settings ie. 'C:\Users\Kent.Hansen\AppData\Roaming\Gallio\'
2. Launch Icarus.
3. Add the 'MbUnit.Samples.dll' assembly.
4. Wait for Icarus to load it.
5. Run the tests.
6. Close Icarus.
7. Sometimes after getting issues like these, I am not able to open Icarus
successfully until I wipe out the folder from step 1.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect Icarus to close and remember that was the assembly I last had
loaded when I run Icarus. Instead I get a 'This program requires a missing
Windows component' (see attached).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.1.368.0 x64. Win 7 x64.

Please provide any additional information below.
I do have flash installed (not that I would now why it would matter), but
it's flash 10 and its file is 'Flash10c.ocx'

I have no idea why it's even looking for "flash.ocx". Icarus doesn't use that
component directly AFAIK. If it's referenced then I imagine it's only by
virtue of
embedding IE.

Do any of your tests embed video content into the test log?

Also having to delete the settings file is bad... What do you mean about being
unable to start Icarus successfully? Do you get an error or does it just die
on launch?

Graham, can you reproduce these problems on our Win 7 x64 sandbox?

I probably got that too after installing 3.1.367
The Win7 Action Center says
'The program you were trying to install or use requires the latest version of
Adobe
Flash Player.'
when I closed Icarus

Added a workaround. Windows 7 is just being overactive about reporting the
fact that
the app couldn't load the Flash plugin.
