Problem X-Road currently uses JRuby 1.7.x version. However, 1.7x version has come to end-of-life and no upgrades will be released for this version (for more information, see http://jruby.org/2017/05/11/jruby-1-7-27). For gaining better understanding how JRuby should be upgraded to newer version, pre-study is needed. Based on pre-study it is also easier to estimate how much work is needed and schedule the work to be done.

Acceptance criteria

• It has been pre-studied how JRuby upgrade to newer version could be done
• It has been estimated who much work is needed for upgrade work
• It has been made a English document describing the above things (version upgrade and work estimate)
