Having this same issue.

Works for me. It actually automatically switched to HDR mode when I launched the game (actually forgot that is a thing cause modern games with HDR support at one point stopped doing that). HDR ingame was still turned off, but turning it on worked for me (with the expected visual change).

if i do fullscreen, it just switches to sdr...

Came to report the same issue. I looked in settings for a calibration option and there was none. It's a shame because with HDR the mod would look even better but as it is I have to use SDR.

Well yes, no one is saying HDR is not working. Just that it's not working correctly.

Try going into windows settings and seeing if HDR is enabled, or if it even can be. if its not checked to on, then turn it on (duh) and try running the program again.

you may also need to activate a setting on your monitor to enable hdr. its different from monitor to monitor on how to activate it, so i cant really say how here.

MozgC commented 2 days ago

I'm not sure, but it may require display (monitor) HDR support?

OP literally talks about HDR not working with the option being greyed out, not the image calibration being out of whack (I have that too but at least can fix it by manually lowering the black level on my TV). They even say that it drops to SDR in fullscreen for them.
