This is also the case with other JetBrains plugins, for example the R Language for IntelliJ plugin. It would be nice for the enhanced markdown plugin to be compatible with/in-place replacement of the bundled IntellJ markdown plugin

Having the same issue! Would be great to get that fixed as the GitHub plugin is pretty convenient for OSS maintainers.

Then the GitHub plugin must have fixed it on their end, this repo hasn't seen any commits for 1 year still.

This project is closed source, you know? And yes the problem with GitHub plugin is JetBrains' fault, not his.
