Reached out on December 3 on IG, and Daniel said "divine timing" because he'll be in Pittsburgh in a week. We're meeting on Saturday at Commonplace around 1pm.

I am an editor, curator, organizer. Key word: Social practice

DM him anytime.

  1. My portfolio and identifying my career / creativity. "I am whoever I need to be in the moment. Are you a curator? Then I'm an artist. A promoter? I'm a DJ. On LinkedIn, Daniel is the Founder and Principal of DSCS, a Detroit-based consultancy that scales cultural work."
  2. My ideas for a media site. Start with just putting things on a website and letting it live there. Get creative with a domain name. Just start. Yes to connecting the Rust Belt, Midwest, and Great Lakes [with the East Coast!]. A support network framework.
  3. Event series like a symposium or music conference across the region.
  4. Art.

Okay to make separate accounts.

Getting grants and funding. It might be self-funded or done on a minimum budget. Know exactly how much it takes to make something work. Then apply for grants or help to scale or pay for that. And then, knowing $$ gets you XY, then $$$$ from a foundation can support XYZABC. Also selling prints or whatever art venture to supplement the minimum finances.

Templetize work. Allow other people to pick it up so it lives on, grows, and isn't dependent on you.

Get ideas out there. They can't live with you. Just let it go. After it's made and done, who cares?
