Is it possible to make a request to the Vtex api from the sandbox component? #681

I am making a "custom component" using sandbox, but it won't let me make requests to the vtex api since I need to extract the Modal data from the sku that is selected within the PDP, is it possible? This is what I'm trying to do by ajax
