Besides that, we can look at countries currently in war. That would be Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan off the top of my head.

I cross-referenced this with the list of countries with ongoing wars: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ongoing_armed_conflicts

The ones with ongoing wars and a significant number of refugees to Canada in 2012 are: Afghanistan, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Mexico (though I think we should exclude it since it's due to drug wars)

Note that, since this data is from 2012, it's a bit out of date. But I'm sure it's still relevant. I'm guessing the amount of refugees from Syria and Egypt has risen sharply, though that's pure speculation.

I just found a gold mine full of information surrounding not only countries affected but a whole lot more information. It's also recent too (2014). GICHD has a document called "A Guide to Mine Action". I'm compiling notes as I read it.
