0.8 release #327

I've created the 0.8 release branch as of a few minutes ago. Didn't quite get to where we wanted here, but I'm guessing we'll keep on the schedule. There's a few little things that have been updated here. Suggest everyone test/use this and find anything wrong with it!

Alright, today's the big day! Anyone else want to hit the merge button, create the version tag and start writing up some version notes? Anyone? Buehler?
