Some ideas regarding this include:
Including non-Vue centric conferences that include Vue topics
Giving priority to Vue centric conferences that include a better design banner and call to actions for various aspects
Upgrading the home page to surface important information like deadlines for conferences (i.e., CFPs, registration, etc)

As a tangential effect of RFC #1 to remove local meetup events, this would provide more time and screen real estate to be devoted to larger community events that people are more likely to travel to / attend due to things like company paid training and such.
