Can't checkout libjpeg: unknown host error message #14

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use git repository explorer in eclipse
2. clone libjpeg using git://android.git.kernel.org/platform/external/jpeg.git
3. Error message: unknown host.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
latest, I am using windows xp.

Please provide any additional information below.
android 2.2 sdk version, and latest android ndk

kernel.org servers had a security breach. I could take some time until they 
come back online. But there are some mirrors of the needed sources.
