Enemy ship is that way, currently, by design. Will leave issue open so we don't forget to actually change this in later builds.
this was to test the enemy, because of an earlier bug where enemies were active always; we wanted them to be disabled until the player got close, and the starting ship was set to "very very close" so we could test.
If you immediately go to the left and sit on the planet there, you can shoot and disable/destroy 3 cannons of the enemy ship without a response.
