Hi @adriatic. Sounds like an interesting project indeed. I'd be happy to help where I can. Definitely feel free to use this as a code sample, and I'm interested to hear any feedback how it could be improved. I created this before the Aurelia CLI Webpack 4 update was released, so there's probably a lot that can be improved based on that too.
Hello, @vuorinem - I am happy to get the chance to involve with the Longarone project, which at the moment is active only in the code-samples repository. While the initial content of the basic folder is nearly completed (check the issues to see the details), you may find it necessary to consider adding some more "basic" cases. The attribute "basic" indicates that these are the smallest building blocks to create applications that show many possible scenarios of interest to Aurelia developer community like (the content of any of these "advanced scenarios is yet to be seriously discussed and designed).
full-stack Your aspnet-aurelia-webpack-skeleton sample falls in this class.
serverless This section presents the same samples from the full-stack set, by replacing the "classic" back-end technology with more recent serverless approach (we plan to cover more than this specific technology.
identity-management Again, we are using the same samples described above as models to introduce the use of various Identity management PaaS (platform as a service) - as decribed here.
Once we get the "critical mass" of samples, we would continue with writing the Aurelia Guides in the format and style we used for one of our first contribution to Aurelia community - the Aurelia KendoUI bridge catalog application that is used as the review of all KendoUI widgets - like this grid as well as a set of related guides like this one
Important: given that I found you (as different from you finding about this project and realized that this is the only thing that you care about) I want to state very strongly that this initial "get-together" carries no obligations of any kind. Even further, if you decide that you would like to see its internals from a close distance, you will be able to say, no thanks, this is not something I would care about.
I took the liberty to create the invitation for you:
as well as created the initial thread Adding a new member, where we can discuss anything and everything you would like to know about this project - information that would help you deciding to become a team member.
Check this (very incomplete) bio if you care to find more about me.
Hello @vuorinem
As a long time member of Aurelia Community, I created the project Longarone that has too many parts to mention them here, so let me point out just the code-samples repository, that will be used as the "underlying story" for the planned Aurelia application guides, written by Aurelia community members. Such approach is different from most often used one, where the framework creator create the documentation describing the API, installation etc - while the future users are left with more puzzles than that are willing to handle - and move to the next, hopefully "easier to use" product.
While you may find the very preliminary draft of Longarone components description document of interest, my question here is a lot more focused:
Would you be interested on helping with the code-samples collection, where your aspnet-aurelia-webpack-skeleton fits perfectly - as I have not even touched the Visual Studio as the alternative building tool?
