Feature Req: Change 'default communications device' as well #9

Hi there,

I love this little application. I have one request that would make it even
better for me and hopefully many others..

I switch between headset and speakers a lot for gaming but I have TeamSpeak and
other similar applications set to use the default audio device. They do not
switch with your app because it only changes the default audio device and has
no ability to switch the default communications device.

Would you be able to add the ability to also switch which device is used for
communications?

Hi,

Indeed, I'm currently working on the 2.0 version which has a separate settings
window for multiple shortcuts and other misc settings. I already planned to ad
this checkbox to switch both, so hold on, some patience and I hope that I can
get the new version ready by the end of this week! :)

Greets!

Hi there! Any chance of this happening? I realize it's been a while since this
request ;)

I would love this as well, I would even pay for it.
I love this little program.

Well it works for me - in 2.0 it even allows to change in settings if it
also changes comm device or not. It's not doing it then? I made this app as
my school final project which as to be completed by the end of January, I
chose it precisely to force myself to finish it properly and get it the way
I always wanted. I will of course show this page here as one part of the
project and will update the code as I go. I know I haven't kept my promise
this far but now I'm forced to do so :)

I think it does, but the whole job isn't done.
When user changes Playback device it doesn't change Recording device as well.
Could you make the setting to be able to change that in systray icon at the
same time?

Another solution could be with a hotkey too: One hotkey for both
SwitchPlaybackDevice and SwitchRecordingDevice at the same time.

Will you be able to do a function to change PLAYBACK and RECORDING device at
the same time?
Do you maybe know some programmer which would make a hotkey for this for me?

I think people are getting this confused with recording device.

communication device is what is used for sound output (and input) by things
like teamspeak. this means you can have teamspeak/mumble/in game voice chat/etc
output to your headphones, but game sound/music output to your speakers. also
makes streaming matches easier if you don't want the voice chat to get streamed.

recording device refers to sound input. both sound input and sound output have
a default device and a default communication device.

This issue report refers exclusively to having the switch change both the
default device AND the default communication device in windows.

This works in 2.0rc2 by the way.

I have hotkey for switching microphone (Insert) and it sometimes stops working.
Is there any fix for this?
