Zack’s Investment Research, (HQ: Chicago Illinois, NAICS: 52523, Emp: 397, Industry: Investment Banking, Stock research and analysis and recommendations, Finance) on Jan 25, 2023 confirmed data breach of 820,000 customers. Breach was discovered December 28, 2022. Unauthorized access occurred sometime between Nov 2021-Aug 2022 for an older database used between Nov 1999 – Feb 2005. Information obtained: name, address, phone number, email address, user name and password. Jun 10, 2023 a database of 8,929,503 customer’s information was put on a popular hacking forum, “Exposed”. Data breach notification service “Have I Been Pwned” notified Zacks. The hack was much worse than originally reported.
