Our Incident Response Team has been in communication with the appropriate state and federal agencies as required by law. Forensic investigations are currently underway to determine the existence and extent of any possible cyber breach.
In accordance with state Education Law 2-D, we must notify you that databases containing potentially protected student information were subject to unauthorized access. This event occurred on February 23, 2024, and was discovered on February 28, 2024.
Our forensics team, working alongside our cyber insurance company, continues to investigate the issue. If any significant changes arise, we will notify you through ParentSquare. Affected current and former students, as well as teachers and principals where applicable, will receive a letter with more detailed information if the forensics team confirms that any information was compromised. Former students seeking additional information can contact our Director of Technology, Eric Scholl at 518-843-3180 ext. 7510 or dataprivacy@gasd.org to receive a letter with more details about the data accessed.
