Here are a couple things you could try Require the system is not running encrypted. Require the System to not be macOS Extended Install Custom Boot Loader to make find a hole to get to the system e.x rEFInd Disable any anti-virus Install multiple boot changers Require the program to be run in an Terminal *Grant full access to the system Get info on right click Add Program
You also might want to change the overwrite path Also referred as Manual Mode

I talked with someone about this issue and it seems like it would require a custom boot-loader to use a custom boot image.
rEFInd might work I tried it on my MacBook Pro (Late 2016 or 2018 not sure) Downgraded to MacOS High Sierra
Does not work with rEFInd or Clover Bootloader, Hackintosh running 10.13.6 disguised as a iMac17,1
Boot image doesn't seem to work on macOS 10.12+
Could be something to do with APFS maybe, could just be broken forever 😟
If anyone has gotten it working via their own tweaking or something I'd gladly take help on updating the feature for the latest macOS.
