Collecting Best Practices and Experiences around the W3C Registry Mechanism #247

Open egekorkan opened 1 month ago

egekorkan commented 1 month ago

During the TPAC24 Breakout on Registries, I have presented (Google slides | W3C WoT WG GitHub) two resources created by two W3C WGs about registries.

@frivoal has mentioned I should tag him and @fantasai to find a place to store or at least link these documents. The initial agreement was somewhere in the Guide document. This way, those who start with the registry mechanism do not have to start from scratch and we can collect best practices over time.

I'm sorry I couldn't join the breakout. I just wanted to note that Media WG has moved all its registries over to the Registry Track (see announcement). We have also published a WebCodecs VideoFrame Metadata Registry.

Thanks for filing this, this is indeed definitely something we should follow up on. ccing @plehegar as well.

Since /Guide has its own repo (https://github.com/w3c/Guide/), I would suggest move this issue there. Does that seem ok?
