@clapierre do you need any more time to look into the latex case?
@gregoriopellegrino the mathml-chemistry addition might be useful for the work you're doing with indesign. I assume you need this merged before you can do anything about it, though, or do you need any more time to review this first?
I think we are good, I sent in an email to the MathML WG but didn't get any feedback so I will take that as they have no opinion on this and we should be good to go.
Sorry, I just saw this just now. One question: is this idea of descriptors new?
I remember that slash was used for displayTransformability
to specify individual things that could be transformed, right? But then that usage was removed....
Yes this is a new concept and new values for types of mathML for Chemistry but not to use the old slash approach but instead add qualifying terms to make new values instead. Matt suggested this new approach here which I like.
Sorry, I didn't link the issue where we discussed this, but as @clapierre says it is new and not quite the same thing as slashes. The slashes let people do whatever they wanted whereas we now want to keep the coining of new values more under the control of this group with this descriptor mechanism. See issue https://github.com/w3c/a11y-discov-vocab/issues/106
Ok, I understand
I doubt we're getting any more feedback on this, so I'm going to merge and republish. I'll also get the crosswalk updated with the other open PR.
Also adds entries for mathml-chemistry and latex-chemistry.
I think the extensibility section already covers that we don't have a general extension mechanism, but I added a note that descriptors are not intended to be one anyway.
Let me know if you think there are any improvements we can make to this.
