Add explanation of slash syntax #27

This doesn't fully address issue #25, but provides an explanation of the slash syntax so it's not opaque why we have it in some places. Also advises not using extensions until we figure them out.

Should at least get us started.

That language looks fine to me.

This is only so that we don't publish the first version with no mention at all of the syntax, which is unfortunately a failing of the wiki.

The problem with trying to detail how it might work is that we never worked out the details. You can just put slashes on forever with whatever values you want and it's all valid because these are extensions and not formal terms.

I'd rather we worked out the details and revised the vocabulary with a complete proposal later. There's no point trying to make sense of something we may not keep in its current form.
