Are words broken across lines in African scripts and do they use hyphenation? #2

Two questions here.

  1. Do words written in African scripts get broken at the end of a line?
  2. If they do, does the script in question use hyphenation or some sort of similar visual marker to indicate the the word continues on the next line?

My understanding is that, although hyphenation can occur when the arabic script is used for Uighur, words are usually not broken at the end of a line in the arabic script used in north Africa (and so there is no hyphenation). Is this also the case for text written in ajami?

How about N'Ko, Adlam, Vai, etc.?

In Adlam, words longer than 2 syllables can be broken using hyphenation.

Thanks @ablobenn. I'm opening a follow-on issue specific to Adlam at https://github.com/w3c/afrlreq/issues/7
