@jasonjgw Will we need to consider a requirement to maintain the integrity of any synchronized media and related alternative content?
Agree with the first point that captions should be recorded. Text within meetings seems to already be saved in some platforms but will check if this is specifically referenced also agree with point two, although text chat is often saved there is a level of difficulty when links are shared in the middle of a meeting and can't get to them. Perhaps a separate option in the remote meeting software specifically for links and related information could be added? I don't quite understand point three, could you explain more about what visual descriptions were referring to? Totally agree about Waiting Room, will look to add into document.
Just to make sure this comment isn't lost - is there a need to explicitly call out that synchronised media remains, well in sync *grin? @sehollier @jasonjgw
adding text to 3.4:
Provide the ability to record a transcript of the captions that were displayed duirng the meeting.
also added to 3.4;
Provide support for links to receive focus upon request This could be implemented as a separate Links box or from within the chat window.
For the waiting room, thinking this could be in status meessages 4.1.3. Would welcome thoughts.
Provide a method of allowing all captions and chat text to be recorded so that those who are Deaf/Hard of hearing/Blind to have access to the additional and sometimes important conversation happening during a presentation. In addition, when links are provided in the chat text, screen reader users at this time do not have a method of copying or recording those links. Visual descriptions should be also provided in both spoken language, presentations, and through ASL interpretation. When an individual is joining a conferencing platform, announcing that a user is now in the waiting room, so that those first time users are aware of what is happening..
