Research proposal for APG AT Support tables

1. What are we trying to learn:

• How can we change the support tables to make them more effective.

2. Who do we want to talk to:

• AT representatives from Vispero, Apple and NV Access)
• APG Task force members
• Web developers who use APG
• Aim for AT users (who are also web developers)
• ARIA AT Community group members (they might also be web developers)
• Browser developers

3. How will we learn from them?

• Collect data on users:

  • Whether they have used the support tables before
  • Whether used the APG before
  • How long they have been web developers (or if they have ever been web developers)
  • How long they have used ATs (or if they have ever used ATs)

• Provide a task that requires them to interact with the APG and witness how they interact with the APG. (e.g. “Please use the APG to determine whether you use the Data Grid pattern on your website, and please ‘think aloud’ as you do so.”)

• Ask users if they have any comments on the support tables after interacting with them.
