Some of the changes we recently landed introduced conflicts in this patch. Since there's not yet been any review here, I've rebased the branch to resolve the conflicts.

That's correct. I noted in the description of gh-65 that it depends on this one because the two are semantically unrelated and can be reviewed independently. We'll need to approve and merge this pull request before merging gh-65.
