three suggestions:

this section seems to not only be about latin boundaries, so maybe it would be good to jig the heading(s) a little.

it would be great to have an example for each convention

the sentence

It is likely that the lack of a well established convention here would have kept copy editors and publishers view formatting conformance here as critical.

didn't communicate a clear idea to me.

Thanks for these changes, and the examples.

I'm still bothered by the section title, however. I don't think of punctuation as Latin, since it's used in many non-Latin scripts these days. How about a title such as:

Ethiopic wordspace alongside other punctuation or line breaks

?
