The Media and Entertainment Interest Group notes a move toward the use of HTML Canvas to render TV-based user interfaces, to improve animation performance. This raises the problem of effectively duplicating all of the accessibility-related features of HTML in a Canvas, for which adequate support does not appear to exist. (There is some support for WAI-ARIA in 2D Canvas, but not 3D, and capabilities not included in ARIA are unavailable.)
Is this issue within the scope of MAUR? If so, how should it be treated in the revised document?
