The video references an older flash technology, but I'm completely unfamiliar. Could anyone provide more context?
I'm also not really familiar, but as far as I understand, there were a few parts to this: support for content protection (today we have EME), secure local storage, and SWF verification which a media server could use to restrict access to the video content to only a verified client application.
WASM, WebGPU, WebCodecs do not not provide a secure perimeter. This includes video playback in VR and 360°, discussed in the Media & Entertainmnent IG.
