fix: state was not closed #754

Small bug fixes.

The following tasks have been completed:

[x] Confirmed there are no ReSpec errors/warnings.
[x] Added Web platform tests (link)

Checked that this is tested... part of it is, but part of it needs to be tested more throroughtly in Basic Card. That is, if converting fails, need to check what it throws.
