Removal of PermissionName broke downstream standards #11

Open annevk opened 2 years ago

annevk commented 2 years ago

w3c/permissions#353 broke the Storage Standard and I suspect other standards are impacted as well. What's the migration story?

https://github.com/whatwg/storage/pull/135 is blocked on this. Should I just remove the reference?

marcoscaceres commented 2 years ago

yeah, sorry about that... my plan was to fix them as we build the registry as I wanted to double check each one meets the criteria, etc.

annevk commented 2 years ago

What should I do meanwhile, just remove the reference I guess?

Sent https://github.com/whatwg/storage/pull/136 - but leaving this open so I can track down the rest.

FYI It did break Web Bluetooth. See https://github.com/WebBluetoothCG/web-bluetooth/pull/574#issuecomment-1060653327

According to https://dontcallmedom.github.io/webdex/p.html... there doesn't seem to be any other usage.

I guess this issue can be closed now?
