Thanks for the suggestion. I just gave it a try, seems to drop quite a few names. Not sure why, perhaps they are people who contributed to discussions but didn't write PRs. Let's address this separately, possibly through a split list of PR-authors vs other contributors (need to remove dups between the two lists though).

Yeah, it checks for actual contributions... alternative might be too split it into two... "thanks contributors! ... list... and thank you also [explicit names]".
