@r12a Manipuri letters are not properly display in the list.

@r12a Manipuri letters are not properly display in the list.

@vermaprashant1 They look fine to me. Can you provide a screen snap. Is it just that you don't have a font that supports Meetei Mayek?

vermaprashant1 commented 2 years ago

Please find snap for the same.

@vermaprashant1 It looks to me that you are getting tofu because you don't have a Unicode font installed for these letters. Please download the Noto Sans Meetei Mayek font and see whether that resolves the issue. https://fonts.google.com/noto/specimen/Noto+Sans+Meetei+Mayek

vermaprashant1 commented 2 years ago

I have this font.

The letters shown in the word/pdf file on my machine that i shared earlier.

I don't know what to suggest. The code points appear to be correct. I tried various things, including viewing on Safari and my iPad, and i always see the expected glyphs.

Unless there are other issues, i'll merge the pull request on Friday morning. Maybe viewing it directly will make a difference.

Thanks. I will check from my side.

FWIW, I can see the letters:

@vermaprashant1 Have you tried opening the preview page in a different browser?

himorin commented 2 years ago

I think I could reproduce similar setup. On Windows with Nirmala UI font (which has glyph for U+ABF0 etc.), Word can set that font, and Firefox renders with that, but Chrome does not (rendered as box with ?). After NotoSans one installed, and confirmed that font can be selected on Word, situations on Firefox/Chrome were not changed. I have no idea why this kind of behavior occurs....

vermaprashant1 commented 2 years ago

@himorin I have the same issue. But the firefox renders with NotoSans font but chrome does not.

@xfq It works on firefox.
