There ought to be a UI to change the settings of the captions beyond choosing the language, most notably the font size (using the browser zoom interacts with other elements).
If we wanted to go beyond font-size, note that media players also allow font family, outline, overlay (with font colors, outline thickness, shadow), position.
side note: wouldn't it be nice if the browser can do that for us (proper WebVTT support ftw!) :)
