Large video sites (YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo, etc.) represent a much more compelling and defensible example of overwhelming user-generated content than the current example of online marketplace reviews.
I acknowledge no companies should be mentioned by name, but as an example here, I read somewhere that 24 hours worth of video is uploaded to YouTube every 2 minutes or so. It would not be humanly possible to close-caption and audio-describe all YouTube videos uploaded in real time. Automation captions/descriptions is likely the only way to solve this problem.
If the group wants to use another example in addition to video, the comment moderation is a good one, but IMO it's not the primary case that will convinced your readers. Video is.
