The publishing community is certainly interested, although at this moment this is not yet in the focus of the Publ WG's discussion topics. The issue is that readers of ebooks are, by now, used to features that separate reading applications offer: easy ways to change the foreground, background, font, font size and possibly other aspects of the publications. Although some of these could be done by dedicated apps in publishing, browser typically do not provide these facilities on a document-by-document basis or for a category/family of documents. The possibility to choose among alternate CSS files, for example, has gone out of usage, too.
Personalization work is currently being worked in the Accessibility space at W3C, but it is a much broader topic. Are their discussions or interest about addressing Personalization elsewhere in W3C?
