Thank you for inviting feedback from the Privacy Interest Group (PING) about the proposed charter. We hope that your education and outreach work will include privacy as that is an important consideration for persons who use accessibility tools, technologies and features.
APA still wants to review this charter. thank you.

@sandandsnow thank you for your comment! We agree that privacy in accessibility is an important matter and would happily review any feedback your group has on our resources (opportunities to highlight privacy concerns, etc.). We will do our best to include privacy concerns in any new or updated materials. Do you have any concerns with the EOWG charter as it pertains to privacy?
@ruoxiran When do you think APA will be able to complete their review?
Apologies for the double account issue - beltonTPG is me as well. I will be using this account in the future.
@plehegar Per our conversation last week -- here is the request to extend the existing EOWG charter.
Rationale:
@ruoxiran When do you think APA will be able to complete their review?
We assigned this review weeks ago, I will check again this week in the APA meeting.
here is the review history in minutes: https://www.w3.org/2023/10/18-apa-minutes.html#t04 https://www.w3.org/2023/10/11-apa-minutes.html#t05 https://www.w3.org/2023/09/27-apa-minutes.html#t07
comments from Janina @JaninaSajka as below: Dear All: With explicit reference to the draft EO Charter, APA discussed the EO Charter draft and would like to request a bit more specificity of the range of WAI publications being produced. We acknowledge this needs to be sufficient to illustrate, and needs to avoid areas where guidance is still being proven. However, APA's opinion is that a few more explicit example citations would be helpful in WAI's overall mission.
The current idea is to close the Group after a Community Group is set up.
There are no comments on the Security side.
Having a Community Group related to Education, though, might be interesting to harmonize the way to do training or other documentation since there are similar needs on the Security side.
CG Group has been created: Advancing Accessibility Resources Community Group.
Goal is to close the EO Group in early July.
We would like to hold off on any announcements that the group is closing until after the new WAI hire is ready to be announced, and hopefully by then the CG is more functional. (Coralie and I just covered that)
That will be mid-July at the earliest.
update: new hire starts 29 July. Shawn is off for a few days, so probably wait until she's back 7 August.
checklist of tasks for closing EOWG: https://github.com/w3c/wai-team/issues/34
Can we get this to be completed?
Was waiting for the new CG to announce itself on WAI IG list. Won't wait any longer.
working on it, e.g., Accessibility EO Messaging
New charter proposal, reviewers please take note.
Charter Review
Charter: EOWG
What kind of charter is this?:
[done]
Horizontal Reviews: apply the Github label "Horizontal review requested" to request reviews for accessibility (a11y), internationalization (i18n), privacy, and security. Also add a "card" for this issue to the Strategy Funnel.Communities suggested for outreach: ...
Known or potential areas of concern: In 2017 re-chartering, there was a push for making EO an IG or CG instead of a WG. For 2020 re-chartering we headed that off by talking to folks beforehand and providing this info about WG vs IG. An additional consideration is that for potential future funding, WG is better.
Where would charter proponents like to see issues raised? (this strategy funnel issue, a different github repo, email, ...): hummm
or, for different visibility:
Anything else we should think about as we review? (don't think of anything at the moment)
