CBOR-LD, YAML-LD & the JSON-LD Recharter #35

Open mandyvenables opened 3 months ago

mandyvenables commented 3 months ago

Session description

The upcoming JSON-LD recharter includes two new compatible formats based on the JSON-LD data model: CBOR-LD and YAML-LD. CBOR-LD provides a highly compressed format keeping data small enough to be represented in QR codes, distributed over short-lived, low bandwidth scenarios, or enabling smaller device use cases when coupled with W3C Web of Thing descriptions. YAML-LD aims to provide simpler human-friendly formatting while staying fully compatible with the JSON-LD data model allowing for easy round-tripping between the two formats. The WG is also exploring a handful of other documents related to internationalization and enhanced processing modes.

Thank you for proposing a session!

You may update the session description as needed and at any time before the meeting, but please keep in mind that tooling relies on issue formatting: follow the instructions and leave all headings and other formatting intact in particular. Bots and W3C meeting organizers may also update the description, to fix formatting issues or add links and other relevant information. Please do not revert these changes. Feel free to use comments to raise questions.

Do not expect formal approval; W3C meeting organizers endeavor to schedule all proposed sessions that are in scope for a breakout. Actual scheduling should take place shortly before the meeting.
