Thank you for proposing a session!
You may update the session description as needed and at any time before the meeting, but please keep in mind that tooling relies on issue formatting: follow the instructions and leave all headings and other formatting intact in particular. Bots and W3C meeting organizers may also update the description, to fix formatting issues or add links and other relevant information. Please do not revert these changes. Feel free to use comments to raise questions.
Do not expect formal approval; W3C meeting organizers endeavor to schedule all proposed sessions that are in scope for a breakout. Actual scheduling should take place shortly before the meeting.
Session description
This breakout session for Verifiable Credentials will explore key areas for future development and standardization. It will delve into the integration of the unlinkable ECDSA cryptosuite, an advancement for privacy-preserving credentials. It will cover the work on VC barcodes and the ongoing work on the VC API, supporting VC lifecycle management. The group will explore innovative methods for VC transmission over wireless technologies, including NFC and Bluetooth, to support in-person interactions. Finally, there will be discussion on vocabulary development for specific domains such as driver's licenses, electronic ID cards (EADs), citizenship documents, vehicle titles, and more, to ensure broad applicability and interoperability of Verifiable Credentials across various market verticals.
