During the 14-Sep-23 face-to-face working group meeting at TPAC, there was agreement to merge PR #149, which uses the SD-JWT media types, once a tracking issue was added asking us to add guidance on using regular JWTs to secure VCs with these media types, rather than SD-JWTs with selective disclosure, and possibly also referencing the SD-JWT spec. This is that tracking issue.
