I said "hearing loss" rather than "hard of hearing." I also don't think the word "perceived" is necessary - whether it is perceived or not, it is a hearing loss.
Both "hard of hearing" and "perceived hearing loss" are used to describe a subjective experience. "Hearing loss," on the other hand, is a medical/audiological term to describe a certain degree of hearing threshold shifting. Someone who self-perceived hearing loss doesn't necessary meet the hearing loss criteria for diagnosis.
Note: there are also other conditions, such as auditory process disorders (APD), that may cause no actual hearing loss (zero hearing threshold shifting) yet do cause hard of hearing.
Ah, ok. I changed it to:
Elias is hard of hearing and has low vision, hand tremor, and short term memory loss.
@JediLin @MicheleAWilliams-A11y PLEASE APPROVE
Elias is hard of hearing and has low vision, hand tremor, and short term memory loss.
Does this take care of the issue?
Yes, this handles the issue.
In the video, Elias does say he "hear less." It is worth mentioning his perceived hearing loss even the auditorial experience is not included in the video or the text.
