https://deploy-preview-113--wai-people-use-web.netlify.app/people-use-web/user-stories-eight/ Barrier examples > Distracting pop-ups

Original: "It's great when I can turn off these images and also any background audio. If the site includes controls to allow me to do that then that's great. Even better if I can turn these off using an ad blocker in my browser."

Don't want to refer to site controls to do this.

a draft idea: "It's great when I can turn off these images and also any background audio. When I turn these off on my device, it's important that the online content recognizes my personal settings."

How's this?

Distracting pop-ups : Problem: "Banner ads and popups are distracting and make me lose focus on what I'm doing." : Works well: "It's great when I can turn off these images using the ad blocker in my browser."

EOWG chairs have decided to remove this example for now. The example describes using an ad blocker where we would prefer to describe how designers and developers could remove the barrier instead of some external plug-in. Please re-open and comment if you have any ideas on a better "works well"
