[ED] "Diverse Abilities" #57

This is not a stop, just a general comment.

I agree with the general concept of "diverse abilities". At the same time, it feels a bit like many of the euphemisms that are/have been used to describe disabilities: "differently abled", "challenged", etc. I'm not sure how well it sits with me. I know many people in the independent living movement that probably wouldn't like it.

However, I don't want this to be a stopper, and have no objection with going ahead with publication.

I agree that in some cases "diverse abilities" could be uncomfortable. (And I do not like the euphemisms "differently abled" and "challenged".)

I think in this case, it's fine — given that we clearly talk about "disabilities" and "impairments" in the first section and throughout.

We have to decide before the redesign. (/me adds label)

I’ll close this issue for now, we launched with “Diverse Abilities”, and I feel it is okay in context. If one of you disagrees, feel free to reopen the issue.
