[fr] Title should be a statement (not a question) #74

/me added to the Read Me file Translation Notes:

The title "How People with Disabilities Use the Web" is a statement. The title is not a question. For translation, it might help to think of the title "How People with Disabilities Use the Web" as a shorter version of "An Introduction to How People with Disabilities Use the Web" or "Description of How People with Disabilities Use the Web".

I don't know French, yet am thinking that this is a question: "Comment utilise-t-on le Web avec un handicap ?" :-)

True, thanks for the heads-up. Yet in long sentences, starting with a "How" is awkward in affirmative form.

Let me think this through and I'll find something :)

(Also, Sylvie has started proofreading it, so we'll find a few other gems I'm sure — which is why I like proofreading)

That can also be an issue in German, but not in this case: “Wie Menschen mit Behinderungen das Web benutzen” vs. “Wie benutzen Menschen mit Behinderungen das Web?”. I guess there are potentially many other ways to frame it, front-loading would be better.

I suggest: "Comment les personnes handicapées naviguent sur le web". Would work wihtout question mark, like in German.

I wonder if "naviguent sur le web" is more limited than we want? In the English, "use the web" is intended to include:

If you two think "Comment les personnes handicapées naviguent sur le web" covers that - great!

In French we would be able to use “interagissent avec le Web” but it's a bit of an mouthful and it's used mostly in UX (or when we train professionals).

I'm OK with either “naviguent sur le Web” or “utilisent le Web”. What do you think is best Sylvie?

I am ok with both, @notabene. But following what @slhenry wrote before,

In the English, "use the web" is intended to include: • perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the Web • contribute to the Web

I think we should use "utilisent le web".
