[Video Introduction to Web Accessibility] Enable Audio Description in English #170

Open shawna-slh opened 5 years ago

Original:

If you want examples of videos with audio description... and select “Enable Audio Description”.

Does “Enable Audio Description” get translated when the Player is available in that language?

Even if yes, probably not worth detecting it to change this text.

Therefore, in the translations, probably best to include both languages, e.g.,

... und „Audiodeskription ein“ (Enable Audio Description) auswählen.

We have it in the translations file and it should get generated in that language when the page the button is on is translated (the button is dependent on the page language, not on the player language, which itself is dependent on the page language).

Great that the Enable Audio Description button will be translated on pages that are translated!

To explain more clearly:

On the Video Intro page, there is no Enable Audio Description button. In the Perspectives pages, there is an Enable Audio Description button.

On the Video Intro page, we have:

... you can select one of the videos on the Web Accessibility Perspectives web page and select “Enable Audio Description”.

The Perspectives video pages won't get translated for a while. And even when they are, the Video Intro page won't know if all the Perspectives video pages are translated, afaik.

Therefore, I think in the Video Intro page, it's best to put it in both the translated language and English. :-)
