Problem on IOS (live region?) #482

Open zwiastunsw opened 2 months ago

zwiastunsw commented 2 months ago

Two visitors to the site reported to me on Facebook that:

Szkoda tylko, że materiał nie jest dostępny, przynajmniej dla mnie. Na iOS po wczytaniu podlinkowanej strony nieustannie pojawia się komunikat close skutecznie uniemożliwiając zrobienie czegokolwiek.

that means:

It's just a shame that the material is not accessible, at least to me. On iOS, after loading the linked page, a close message constantly appears, effectively making it impossible to do anything.

@zwiastunsw Thank you for raising this issue. Do you have more information about the browsers and assistive technologies used by these visitors?

zwiastunsw commented 2 months ago

@remibetin: I asked for information. refers to https://www.w3.org/WAI/videos/standards-and-benefits/

@zwiastunsw I have the same setup and cannot reproduce for now.

Would it be possible to provide some screenshots of what is displayed?

Thank you @zwiastunsw. I have now been able to reproduce the issue with VoiceOver. I will investigate to fix.

The problem concerns our video player and is not limited to W3C WAI website, I have opened an issue in the AblePlayer repository: https://github.com/ableplayer/ableplayer/issues/598

@zwiastunsw I suspect the AblePlayer issue will take some time to be resolved.

The page does not provide much additional information: its main purpose is to display the video. In the meantime, users can also find the video directly on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20SHvU2PKsM) or on the W3C server (https://media.w3.org/wai/accessibility-intro/intro.mp4).
