@shawna-slh Do you know where this issue should go? It's for a WAI presentation of yours.

shawna-slh commented 1 year ago

hum - bigger question is if that is the best reference these days? Where is this? I mean, in what document is this reference? (I'm guessing same place as https://github.com/w3c/wai-website/issues/549 ?)

(and also OMGosh look so young in https://www.w3.org/WAI/presentations/2008/2008-06June-MalaysiaUPS?!?)

ShamarYarde commented 1 year ago

It's in the Multimedia Accessibility FAQ document, at this URL: https://www.w3.org/2008/06/video-notes, as an example transcript for presentations for Q3. How do I get a transcript for my media?

Hi @ShamarYarde Thanks for pointing out issues with that old page. I'll update that page at some point. I might not fix all the external links and instead make it more clear that the FAQ is not updated, just left there for archive — and the info on that page is covered better in the more robust update-to-date resource: Making Audio and Video Media Accessible

@shawna-slh Thanks for informing me. I was going through the Techniques for WCAG 2.2 at this URL: https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG22/Techniques/#introduction and ended up on that page, but I can't figure how I got there now. I'll post how here if I do.

It would be great if you found that. I do need to get that updated! I will set aside some time to look for it myself. :-)

@shawna-slh I found it. It's not a direct link from the website.

The Transcripts on the Web: Getting people to your podcasts and videos (second resource of G151: Providing a link to a text transcript of a prepared statement or script if the script is found at this URL: https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG22/Techniques/general/G151) has the URL: http://www.uiaccess.com/transcripts/transcripts_on_the_web.html. The Beyond transcripts — Captions section on the Transcripts on the web page has a link to this old page.
