@jasonjgw Interesting, on re-reading I'm thinking also to refer to 'objects' and 'content' may make more sense. How about?
REQ 1d: Allow the user to filter or sort objects and content. REQ 1e Allow the user to query objects and content for more details.
I support this proposal. Should there be a reference to assistive technologies in the text or in a note, or is that an "implementation detail"? It would seem to me that this guidance is principally for assistive technology users (e.g., magnification, nonvisual interfaces - possibly learning/cognitive, though that's a little more speculative).
Ok, great. Added to main branch.
It seems to me that REQ 1d is referring to the "filtering" of a large set of objects by assistive technologies - perhaps to inform a nonvisual user of the XR application only of what is most salient in a particular context.
Unfortunately, I suspect many readers of this document would miss the implications here, and that the requirement should be stated more clearly. It's also possible of course that I'm misinterpreting what it's intended to mean. The "querying" referred to in REQ 1d is, again, a support provided to assistive technologies. I wonder whether this should be split into two requirements (1d and 1e), with a clearer sentence for each: one dealing with filtering, and the other with querying.
