Unable to go to advanced settings

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install on my wife's Samsung GALAXY Note II
2. Try to set preferences
3. No preferences choice on the toolbar!

What is the expected output? I expected to be able to set up a detailed set of 
billable minutes (Monday-Friday, 7:00 - 18:00, with local calls outside those 
times free, as I was able to do on my Sony Experia)
What do you see instead? No way to set preferences beyond the start of the 
billing period and teh name of the account.

What version of the product are you using? 3.11.2 

On what operating system? Android 4.4.2

i really don't get it.
preferences are accessible like in any other app via actionbar menu.
please post a screenshot.

I see no settings or meny button button on the actionbar.
